tweetiepie
I would love to get some ducks, but we have a lot of foxes around. Does anyone know if keeping their house on a small island in the middle of a big pond would be fox free? There is about 10-15 feet of water between the island and the edge of the pond - not sure if that is far enough to stop a fox swimming across. The idea would be to put a duck house on the island, and leave it open over night for the ducks to come and go. Many thanks
Lesley
That should work - but would be difficult to collect any eggs?
Martin B
Anyone remember that fox that swam across the pond 3 times there and back to steal 3 geese eggs for its cubs? Foxes can swim. I think Electric Fencing is the best option.

tweetiepie
Thanks for all your replies. I've decided to get chickens first (arrive Wednesday!!). Maybe I'll move onto ducks when I've seen how much the chickens get bothered by foxes!
