I'm pleased. If I could have voted I would have voted for it. NOt only do I love walking and cycling I also think it was the fairest project as it wasn't area specific.

Let's hope the other projects get some funding from somewhere though as they are all fantastic.

How is it fair for a regional project to be up against a national project?!?!? Especially when the national project is one that should be funded by central government anyway, as admitted by the head of sustrans! This is a sad day as there was an opportunity here to radical transform a deprived area of Britain, instead it is once again the middle class who will benefit from this money!!!!

but sadly wouldnt be. I didn't decided the criteria I was making my statement based on what was. I don't personally see walking and cycling as middleclass things. In fact they are some of the cheapest modes of transport.
