Especially when the national project is one that should be funded by central government anyway, as admitted by the head of sustrans! This is a sad day as there was an opportunity here to radical transform a deprived area of Britain, instead it is once again the middle class who will benefit from this money!!!! I didn't decided the criteria I was making my statement based on what was. I don't personally see walking and cycling as middleclass things. In fact they are some of the cheapest modes of transport.
