SueSteve
One of the pepperpots still hasn't laid! I am beginning to wonder if she ever will!!!
Egluntyne
Are you absolutely sure? Some of mine lay eggs so similar that I can't be sure who's they are. The days start lengthening soon so that should give her a kick start.
Ain't Nobody Here
Still waiting for Molly the Pied Suffolk to lay too (after 10 eggs in Oct/Nov then nothing). I see we got ours at roughly the same time - maybe they're just a bit young (although that doesn't explain Molly's 10 eggs ).
Snowy
One of my hybrids started, laid for about 3 weeks then went on strike. I suppose this is the worst time of year for eggs. Even those that are laying are very hit and miss at the moment.
ktdot
Oh, it's so hard waiting isn't it? My last one has just laid her first egg at 28 weeks. It takes some a while to get going. She laid about a week after she started crouching. Is yours doing that yet?
Avid-Myrtle
don't worry I got mine a week earlier then you and until today only 1 out of 3 was laying but today I got 2 eggs....so it will happen I came home from work early yesterday and was giving the girls their treats and Edna crouched in front of me - never happened before so I was just telling my husband a couple of weeks and we may have an extra egg BUT it happened today I hope you don't have too long to wait
SueSteve
Thanks for all the replies. I just knew if I posted something like this, she would start laying!! Well I have just got in from work and there were 3 eggs, 2 pepperpots and one Gingernut. So she must be laying now!! The biggest egg that I have had from any chicken so far is 58g, but there was a whopping 68g with a very soft shell (no a bit dented as it collapsed as I picked it up) I am wondering if this one belongs to Jett!! About time!! I can't wait for my first 4 egg day, lets hope she now continues to lay as well as the others!
