She was jsut thrilled with it all The Kaiser Chiefs are her favourite band,& she was almost in tears when they came on. It took me right back to when I used to see Big Country in my teens
Guest
Oh I wish I@d seen the Kaiser Chiefs - I'd have offered to drive you as I prefer to drive to London than pay though the nose for dirty crowded public transport (I'm too s"Ooops, word censored!"by I don't DO public transport). I saw Big Country when they were supporting Queen.
Cinnamon
I saw Big Country when they were supporting Queen. I used to see them a lot. I cried buckets when Stuart Adamson died a couple of years ago - it was like the end of an era

Guest
Don't do trains I hate anything where I am stuck there & can't get out (have to take Diazapam on a plane) Haven't read all of this thread yet so don't know what everyone else has said. Just wanted to say I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. I hate being anywhere where I can't make a quick exit. I even have to have an aisle seat at the theatre/cinema, preferably near an exit. I panic in crowds because I feel hemmed in and not able to get away. I can just imagine some people reading this rolling their eyes, well, you're lucky not to be so nervous is all I can say. Take a diazepam before you set off and have one in your pocket for when you come home, just in case. I would suggest setting off in plenty of time so you can take your time getting there and find somewhere to park, a sat nav (if you have one, if not, can you borrow one?) Ignore anyone who trys to bully you into making snap decisions about where to turn etc- let them wait! The worst thing I find about driving in a built up area that you're not familiar with, is other drivers not giving you time to think. Pardon my French but Sod 'em! You take your time! Plan ahead, check your route on www.theaa.com or other such routefinder and check where all the car parks are so that if one is full, you know where the next one is. If it gets really bad, tell yourself, "I can just turn around and go home" as that option is always available to you. One last suggestion, sometimes coach firms do trips to concerts, you could check with your local coach station/bus station to see if they have any trips on the books. Good luck, it's rotten to have that sprung on you!
Cinnamon
Thanks Poet Things have got worse since I had the children. If I know I have to be there to look after them, like go on a plane etc I am a wreck. Anything I can't get out of or HAVE to do is a nightmare. You should have seen me at the crowded school concerts & plays they used to do Things have escalated this year as I suffer from a bowel condition & my nerves have meant I have had to do several dashes to the loo - & when I say dash I mean it. But I find breathing techniques & the odd G&T help to keep things under control. Still missed Jimmy Carr in concert his year due to it though

I'm too scared to go anywhere without DH in case I have arrythmia in public and there's "Ooops, word censored!"ody around who knows about my medical history, as it always feels like I'm going to pass out when it happens. I have found that diazepam helps to keep me calm and the odd JD and coke God love ya kiddo, if you ever feel like a chat about it, just PM me ttfn xxx
Basset
I'm so pleased you made it and had a lovely evening. We revisited our youth on Friday and went to see Madness in concert at the O2. It was a fantastic evening and the atmosphere was amazing.
Guest
I considered going to see Madness at the o2, seen them before and I think they are brilliant live but next friday I'M GOING TO SEE THE JAM!!! Well 2/3 of The Jam, 25 years ago my Dad wouldn't let me go to their final concert with my cousin (who is now a Methodist Minister). This time I'm paying for the ticket and the hotel out of his money - if he was still with us I'd have made him spring for it - so as he's gone I took it out of the savings account. I figure he owes me, I regretted missing that concert for years.
