OK I bought Christmas Dinner

Recommended Posts

I love having a nosey into other peoples shopping trolleys.

this is awful and I don't claim to be sylph-like at all, but me and Dh were shopping once and we saw a morbidly obese family, and I mean grossly overweight!

We couldn't resist having a peek into their trolley and it was full of white bread, potatoes, crisps and bottles of pop. DH looked at me and said in a sympathetic tone of voice (out of their earshot) "ahhh, must be a glandular problem". I nearly wet myself!

I have visions of you with 25 toilet rolls and 4 pints of cream to go with your 2.5kg of stuffing!

No it was 48 toilet rolls

A small tub of Elmlea

2.5 k of stuffing

And several "really useful boxes" which are great for keeping coursework in.:oops::oops:

Does anyone else wonder what checkout people think as you put really obscure items on the conveyor belt :?

A

I had a check-out person ask me what i did with the cocoa I was buying. She had bought some but didn't really know what to do with it. Tried to make a drink but it didn't taste very nice :lol:

We use all of our chicken when it has been roasted - I freeze any cold meat that isn't going to get used in the next couple of days, and then make soup/stock with the carcass and freeze the extra of that too.

We have a delicious and enormous chicken from Lesley and Carl again this year and I am so looking forward to eating it tomorrow. :D

Most of our veggies are dirty Pengy - some of them are from our garden, some from Phil's folks and the rest from the farmers' market - they soon scrub up and are always delicious.

Give little James a hug from me too.

Send your leftovers over here - we'd soon scoff them!

I don't mind dirty veg - if I can feel them to make sure they are good. These dirty spuds were in a plastic bag so you couldn't get a good feel. When they are clean in the plastic bag you get a good look to see if they are OK.

I would have bought them loose - then I would have given them a good feel and bought about 1/2 as many!

I don't use this farm shop regularly so I wasn't entirely sure of the quality of their produce.
