Cinnamon
My littlest one is 11 next week & wants a fondue party for a few friends. She has requested a chocolate dessert fondue,& there is not a recipe for this in my otherwise brill fondue book I have found a few online, but would rather use a tried & trusted one.....so has anyone got a choccy fondue recipe they can recommend? Mrs Blue Sky
Haven't got a recipe - but what about those chocolate fountains? I saw one in John Lewis and nearly dribbled!
Mrs Blue Sky
Actually cancel that - just seen the price but this looks like the ticket - from BBC website: Preparation time less than 30 mins Cooking time no cooking required Quick Recipe Ingredients 75g/3½oz milk chocolate 150g/5¼oz strawberries 50ml/1¾fl oz double cream Method 1. Melt chocolate in a pan over simmering water. 2. Dip the end of each strawberry in to coat with the chocolate. 3. Stir the cream into the remaining melted chocolate, transfer to a ramekin and serve with the chocolate-coated strawberries. You could put it in a pot over a tea-light to keep it warm... brilliant idea for a girly party by the way
Cinnamon
That one sounds great. I could always give it a dry run this weekend - just to make sure it works OK! Thanks
Linda
Oh yes, you must give it a trial run. The sacrifices we make for our daughters!! My daughters received a chocolate fondue set for Christmas and all we do is to melt chocolate in the fondue bowl (galaxy was their choice) and dip in a variety of fruit - strawberries, grapes, kiwi, banana, and marshmallows of course!! A splash of double cream in with the choc makes a good texture. It's scrummy though slightly messy!!! Bon appetit!
Mel (& Paul)
Dont do a DRY run - do a proper run with loads of chocolate. Can we come to the party? Please Pretty Please

Lesley
I bought a chocolate fountain for Christmas and set it up for the little ones - - it was great fun. And, yes! chocolate does wash out of the linen tablecloth if you've forgotten to cover it with the plastic one bought specially for the occasion

Cinnamon
Here it is - the chocolate fondue party! As you can see,I had to use a bowl rather than my lovley cast iron fondue as someone who will remain nameless (The Hubby) forgot to buy meths My Cleo is on the right at the back. We had to postpone the sleepover part,as I am not too well with a bad chext at the moment & am up coughing all night I did it with mostly dark choc, which was a good call as they ate it rather more sparingly than they might have had it been all milk chocolate So,thanks for all your help & advice - it went down a treat
