benedictbrown
We we picked up 3 battery hens this weekend and all seemed ok for the first couple of days. We now have one who’s a massive bully who started a fight with another last night. She lost a lot of feathers and we think she may have bashed herself. We've separated them today but the ‘injured’ bird won’t leave her nest, won’t eat, closes her eyes every time we check on her and has spent most of the day with her face to the wall. We’re not sure if she’s just sulking and traumatised or if something serious is wrong. Not sure if we should move her if she’s in pain but no sign that she’s broken anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Cat tails
It sounds like she could do with a vet visit. If she is closing her eyes, she clearly isn’t feeling well. Could you contact the organisation you got your hens from for advice too?
mullethunter
At the very least you definitely need to move her to try to figure out what’s wrong
