Cinnamon
I have really enjoyed this new adaptation on the BBC,although I was such a fan of Ang Lees movie with Emma Thompson, that I very nearly didn't watch it at all The cast are all gorgeous, the scenery is stunning & THAT cottage is just the sort of place I could live The girl playing Elinor sounds just like Emma Thompson, doesn't she? And the girl playing Marianne looks like Princess Bea. Plenty of men in breeches & white shirts too, which is always a good thing I am very much looking forward to the concluding part this weekend,& would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet - I am sure there must be catch up viewings on somewhere Edited January 11, 2008 by Guest
Egluntyne
It is fab isn't it. The girls playing Marianne was in Rapunzel last night. An odd looking individual. Edited January 11, 2008 by Guest

pelicano
I've recorded it all but haven't watched yet. I absolutely love the film with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet too, so do have mixed feelings about it.
Tessa the Duchess
I have really enjoyed this new adaptation on the BBC,although I was such a fan of Ang Lees movie with Emma Thompson, that I very nearly didn't watch it at all I felt the same way Cinnamon Why try to improve on perfection, I love the Ang Lee film and have it on video. This adaptation has been great though, you can't beat a costume drame on BBC Tessa
Cinnamon
You can't,can you Tessa? There is something so romantic about this period, the dresses are gorgeous & the men so dashing.................. I am looking forward to the other new one on next week too,'Larkrise to Candleford',which also looks wonderful
Tessa the Duchess
I am looking forward to the other new one on next week too,'Larkrise to Candleford',which also looks wonderful [/color] I am not at all sure about Larkrise from watching the trailers. I read it years ago and it was a social documentary of the way people lived back then. I remember crying when reading the book when a very old couple who had been together for 50 years were sent to seperate work houses when they became a burden to the community. This adaptation looks quite different to how I remember the book The cast look promising Tessa
Cinnamon
Hmm - I haven't read it,so I guess I will have no expectations. The cast does look wonderful. I love Dawn French & am looking forward to seeing her & her amazing bosom squeezed into a corset
