craftyhunnypie
I bought this magazine yesterday - let's get crafting - with beads. A tad expensive, but it comes with a kit to make several jewellery pieces. The magazine is very good & I shall be busy later having a fiddle! I think it covers a different craft each month. Got it from WhSmiths, if anyone else is interested. Emma.x Ooops just realised what I wrote..the magazine is very good & I shall be busy later having a fiddle!!! ubereglu
Sounds good Emma. I generally buy my beads and things from Yandles out in Martock though. I have a good supply at the moment and really like jewellery making. Can't wait to see some piccies of what you get up to! Liz
Guest
i think I looked at that the other day - chookiehubbie saw me, and did that rolling eye thing that hubbies do ( ), and commented that I had enough 'tat' around the house, without adding to it. So would you say thta it was worth the money (I seem to remember it was £7-£8ish)
craftyhunnypie
So far I've made a necklace & earring set & a phone charm, quite pleased with the results. Still loads of beads left. Could do with some more findings though, as you only get 2 callottes & one screw fastening for a necklace. But they are very cheap off ebay anyway, I think 1.50 for 1000. I'm enjoying this hobby! I shall take photos later. Emma.x
Snowy
I've been given a bag of bits and pieces, including some beads and was thinking of adding soome little bead charms to my bags. What would I need to make them with? Never done beading before!
craftyhunnypie
Hi Snowy, you'd need to buy some headpins & some round nosed pliers. You could then thread a bead or 2 onto a head pin, snip off the end and form a loop. These could then be attatched to a length of chain (you can buy lengths from Hobbycraft or a bead shop) then add a keyring. Or you could simply thread some beads onto some organza / pretty ribbon & tye those onto your bags. Try googling making handbag charms - you might find some instructions there. Good luck Emma.x

Lesley
They sell a pack of small pliers in B&Q - spring loaded so they are really easy to use - I bought some for plucking the wing feathers on turkeys and chickens.
