Tamsin
I think they are FAB but I cant see me persuading Paul that we have to have some Mabe you could sneak them in your makeup-bag and tell Paul that they are powder puffs
Mel (& Paul)
Now that he would NOT believe. Not really a make up kind of girl I try to be - I start off with lovely make up. 10 mins later my mascara is round my eyes, my lipstick is on my teeth and the image is gone *sigh* I will never be a girly girl
The Dogmother
They are lovely Tamsin, I bet your Dad went mad! They look just like a blonde version of my Dolly In answer to all the questions; they have lousy eyesight and ceratinly wouldn't last long in the wild - Lavinia, my lavender pekin, acts as Dolly's eyes. They are good consistent layers - Dolls lays blue eggs and they have a lovely calm nature. Oh, and they go all spikey in the rain
Tamsin
Clare,Dolly is gorgeous (could be a long lost cousin to my girls? ). Yes my dad did go mad Yes your right their eye sight is dreadfull, i had a little trim around their eyes as they had so much feather it was making their eyes sore. You would of been in heaven at the bantam show at reading last weeekend as there was lots of pekins being shown (and for sale ) They have been laying lovely white eggs, but i felt sorry from the person that gave me the hens sooo i have been giving them to him as his old hens got eaten by a fox so he hasnt had any eggs blue eggs do sound intresting. p.s i look forward to the rain
The Dogmother
That made me laugh Tamsin, I bet your dad went ballistic! Good job that I didn't know about that Reading show - I wouldn't have been able to resist! I did think about trimming Dolly's hair as it gets in her way, I might have a go now. She's always dunking it in the water and food and it gets really bedraggled - last week there were icicles in her hair
