Egluntyne
As I have mentioned, I have combined my 2 little flockettes, ie, they freerange together during the day, but sleep in their 2 Eglus in the original flock. So far I have managed to get them into their own Eglus at night, but this time it didn't quite go according to plan, and I have ended up with 5 in one and 3 in the other. Daft as a brush Artemis Fowl is in the wrong one. Try as I might, it was impossible to get her out without the others stampeding so I gritted my teeth and left her. I kept an eye on them as light faded and apart from a couple of tiny squabbles, it seemed ok. Have just been out to have a look and they are all fast asleep in a row, and to be honest, by torchlight it was impossible to tell which one was her, so I've left them to it. No point hoiking the wrong one out and posting her into the other Eglu. Might help with the team building anyway. Ho hum.
Christian
I understand your concern Egluntine. The first night mine 'mix and matched' I was out like a shot in the morning to see if they were okay. They were and nearly always sleep in one eglu now
Egluntyne
Phew....thanks for that Christian.
Snowy
When I had 7 hens and they had two eglus to choose from, we always had 6 in one and one Billy no mates on her own in the other eglu At least the 3 junior hens took it in turns being Billy. Egluntyne
Artemis Fowl is as thick as a brick...she wouldn't know if she was on this earth or Fullers, but if it had been Atilla the Hen who had ended up in the wrong run I would have had to hoik her out somehow. She wasn't given that name for nothing.
Laura & CTB
Artemis Fowl is as thick as a brick...she wouldn't know if she was on this earth or Fullers, nice one to read on a Monday morning Egluntine! How are they all this morning?
Egluntyne
Artemis Fowl is as thick as a brick...she wouldn't know if she was on this earth or Fullers, nice one to read on a Monday morning Egluntine! How are they all this morning? Artemis is making quite a noise. I'll let them out in a bit. It's too early just yet....Monsieur Reynard may be still about. I don't have to go to work till 1pm so they can have a play this morning and I just hope I can get them into the right Eglu's later.
feemcg
When mine play musical cubes and eglus it usually surprises me which one decides to be adventurous - my wee youngest Cream Legbar, Bonnie, has left her hatch mate, Rosie, and gone to sleep in the cube. I was surprised as she was getting the worst time from the 'oldies' when they were introduced.
Egluntyne
I just dread Atilla getting in the wrong Eglu...she is vile.
MedusA
I just dread Atilla getting in the wrong Eglu...she is vile. I like the idea of a WRONG eglu! A bit like Wallace and Gromit's "Wrong Trousers", but with chickens instead of Penguins.
Egluntyne
Well I've managed to get them back into the "right" Eglus without any difficulty this time. Let's hope Artemis has learned her lesson.
