Cate in NZ
I know that some of you MSN. Can you please tell me, is it really easy to use (for a technophobe ). Daughter has created me an account, and also one for Jeff so that we can "chat", but she did it all so quickly that it was a blur. About the only thing I learned is that they don't like it if someone "nudges" you on MSN............I decided I quite liked that feature, next time they don't respond to my calls of "Dinner's on the table" I'll log on and "nudge" them instead

Ziggy
I agree, it's very easy... I've used MSN, skype and yahoo messenger all to communicate with far away friends, and they are all reasonably similar, and quite easy to use... you can get a webcam too, and see each other, which is brilliant, and also very easy. gooner.girl
Its very easy to use Kate - will be a great way of keeping in touch with Jeff. Hope he is settling well over there? We missed you today - hope you're ok. Was a huge rescue and i am exausted - nearly fell asleep driving home. I have to say though - your cheesecake is the best i have ever tasted - so yummy! And Jo missed it! Please don't go to NZ!
Guest
MSN is very good for keeping in touch. Get a webcam running too and you could see each other. When I went on QM2 last year I set up an account for JAMES! Mum would logon for him and we could wave whilst she typed for him - my laptop has a built in webcam. All of the waiters in my favourite wifi hotspot (yes it WAS a bar!) liked to wave hello to him too - one of them gave me a lovely QM2 pen to take home for the cute little boy (many of them miss their families). It helped us a lot - I wanted to do the trip, it wasn't suitable for him (the boat was but the flight out to NYC and the 2 days of constant shopping weren't). I needed a bit of time by myself - it was the first time I'd been alone since throwing his father out a year before. But I did miss him and he missed me so knowing we could "see" each other every day was great. Especially as we couldn't phone - on the transatlantic run your mobiles don't work. Cate in NZ
Then they'll block you! They wouldn't dare I'm glad it went well yesterday Helen, I did think of you all. I've had a viral thing that I thought I'd shaken off, but I think with the general stress of the last few days it took advantage and came back with a vengeance. Anyway I didn't feel well enough to be of any real use . I fully intend to be at the next one though.........assuming I'm feeling brave enough to face Jo after providing cheesecake for the one rescue she had to miss . I may need to go into hiding

Guest
Oh don't get me started on Facebook. I just had a message from someone I havn't seen in the best part of 25 years! We were once the best of friends and our parents were friends too. I saw his parents at my Dad's funeral but he was really a blast from the past - its amazing.
