N&J
This is the 1st time I will need to do this and I was wondering which is the best way to do it. I would liek the chance for the chooks still to free range but not wreck my veggie patch or some of the borders. Is the omlet netting any good - or if i built 3 ft high fence to restrickt them to a certain area would that keep them in? What do other people do - any ideas wouldbe appreciated
Nicola H
I use the omlet netting it is flexible and keeps the chooks off my veg patch, because it is floppy the chooks can't jump on it and tend to stay away from it, so it works fine for me..............Although it is quite expensive. Richard T
I use chicken wire and bamboo sticks (from B&Q) to make a temporary, easily movable fence. It seems to work. They've not tried flying over or landing on it. Richard T
motherhen
If the hens are clipped, then it doesn't have to be that high as long as the hens can't land on the top of it. The chicken wire and bamboo sounds great.
PurpleHen
I use Omlet fencing, which is great - we got the minimum amount and it will do about 2 widths of our small garden!
Lesley
We use the Omlet netting as well.
