Mrs Frugal
This is for individual biscuits so will only take a fraction of Delia's recipe for a whole shortbread and the biscuits are light and delicious . Watch them in the oven though as they can turn brown on the edges when you turn your back on them for a second .
Guest
never thought of that Not used to this cooking lark, thanks very much for the advice
Jules.
Watch them in the oven though as they can turn brown on the edges when you turn your back on them for a second . I've cooked some today for my Nanna. They turned too brown
Mrs Frugal
I have that happen a lot. Only takes a minute to overdo them, doesn't it . Can you use them as a base for a cheesecake or something? I can usually use up biscuits that way if they go wrong (I'm forever forgetting to put the sugar in ).

bellekatz
As both my Mum and MIL have passed away several years ago there is just me - and I am having CHICKENS for my pressie!! I am picking up 4 new girls at an organic farmers market on Sunday morning ( and maybe some sausages, honey, chocolates. veggies, local ice cream etc etc!!!!!) Guest
mmmmmmmm, love farmers markets. I might not be a mummy mummy but I'm a chicken mummy so I might treat myself and pop along to one soon. Just got the shortbread out, so far, so good. I just hope it's not as crumbly as it looks Need to let it cool and then try a piece. The recipe says to dredge in castor sugar but that will just fall off won't it!?

Guest
I'm just about to test it, still wondering whether I should dredge it in castor sugar, oh what the heck, in for a penny... Will report back later, fingers x'd it's going to be nice ***edit*** just having a slice with a cup of Yorkshire tea (the free ones) and it's very nice, what a relief! Pam, there's a piece here with your name on it

Ziggy
This forum is good for many things, but it sure isn't good for my diet!!! Begging for a piece of that shortcake too... I'm not a biscuit person, but shortbread.... oooooh... can't resist...
Guest
I'll pass on the shortbread thanks. I bought Mum something on Ebay - a sort of glass fruit plate but she had it when I got it as I'd arranged to collect it and somehow she ended up in the car! I also bought her a Radley Handbag in JL a few weeks ago and today I got her a bunch of daffs.
