Guest
OK so I@m over excited again. Rather a hangback from both my days at Ford and my Dad (not normally known for spending money) but I get a shiny new car every 2 years and my 2 years is up in May! I've gone for another Mondeo (really wanted a Focus CC BUT I need the Mondeo space) and I've gone up a model to the Titanium X this time mainly because now that I've lost weight (7 stone now) I don't find the sports seats uncomfortable any more. I got an internet deal again and shaved 4k off the list price so it'll be pre-registered againg which means I can't put my personalised plate on for 6 months (not that I'll mind driving an 08 for a while!). The hardest decision as ever was the colour. I ADORE the amethyst purple that Ford do but of course they don't do exciting colours like that in a Mondeo. They do 4 different colours of silver and a range of rather dull colours. I was leaning towards tango red but the lighter colours don't contrast as prettily with the silver and chrome grilles. Then I found out they have just introduced a deep plum colour - should match the streaks in my hair! It should be built at the end of March so Iam expecting to take delivery in mid-April. Just need to sell the old one now (comes with a new set of tyres!)
Charlottechicken
Ooh sounds lovely Pengy, especially the plum colour It will go great with the chrome bits and bobs I always wanted a metallic purple Metro, but never got one Sometimes motor manufacturers have the most awful colour selections don't they
little chickadee
Nice colour choice So glad you can fit in the seats you like now !
Shirl
Purple car sounds good. I'm musing a new car but can't find one large enough for my needs but small enough for me to like. I have expensive taste too although buying online makes it cheaper. When we bought the Galaxy the book price was about £27k but we got £6k off that, just as well really because cars lose their value so quickly. One Man Banned
I have to be honest, I like the new Mondeo The diesels go really well and I thought I would hate Fords forever I've had quite a few in my time, and bought my Sportka just over a month ago and I LOVE it - still long for the day I buy my Mini Cooper........now where's that dreaming emoticon again.. A xx
Guest
I thought long and hard about a diesel but I don't do quite enough miles in a year to justify it. Then I thought about the green fuel option but that apparantly isn't remotely cost effective.
Clash City Rocker
You say that you have a new car every 2 years, so I'm guessing that you never really own it, just continually "hand it back" and start a new contract? If that is the case, have you looked at the leasing option? I drive a Saab93, went to my local dealer, had a test drive, got some prices for a 2 year deal then went to a leasing company, told them what I wanted and saved just over £40.00 a month. Also with leasing, Breakdown/Recovery is part of the price, as is Road Tax. The leasing company also "bring a car to me" while they take mine away for servicing/repair/valeting, all part of the price. I never get any motoring bills other than my agreed monthly repayment bill.
Guest
You say that you have a new car every 2 years, so I'm guessing that you never really own it, just continually "hand it back" and start a new contract? Nope - its cash on the nose for me - another thing my Dad taught me! As I never pay the full price in the first place that initial hit of depreciation isn't as bad as it ought to be. Oddly despite being a shopaholic I am also a huge money saving person - I never go out so I save a huge amount there!

Guest
It is always so exciting getting a new car Well done with the weight loss What does your son think with you having lost so much weight? James thinks it's wonderful, I have more energy to chase him about and I can play more stuff with him, I'm no longer WAAAAY over the weight limit for his trampoline - in fact even combined we are under it now! I can also climb up slides, go on swings etc. Now CCR - this running away - should I wait until I get the car??
