Guest
I need to establish breeding groups to ensure a strong bloodline - bringing in some males for Japanese Quail which I hatched out 3 weeks ago. I have already have had a request from Harrods (our village shop) for quail and eggs and a few more people besides. I didn't think I would be able to see them But when I was talking about them to someone in the shop - she told the owner - and asked me for all I could produce!) The egg boxes bump the cost up though - they are expensive for the size of them. Depending how many you buy the cheapest ones I have found range from 30p each down to 11p each if I buy 600 in one go! Surplus males will be table birds. You get on average 65% males to females in each hatch. I have started identifying the females in my brood - but they are still a tad bit young to be certain. Will know better in a week or two. I have bought leg rings for when I start identifying them. Must dash - chickens need cleaning out now that the rain has stopped. Thank you checking out my blog
