kannie
I kept hearing last summer that chicken keeping was the UK's fastest growing hobby. Anyone know where this fact / rumour originated from?

The Dogmother
James probably planted it in the press
motherhen
James probably planted it in the press You cynic! I think it was in one of those list things that the Sunday Times does about trends.

motherhen
It doesn't matter how wonderful a product is, if no one knows about it. All good businesses have to advertise and spread the word throughout the world - and beyond. I'm sure the rumour about the first manned mission to Mars taking an eglu and 2 hens with them is just a rumour What colour eglu would look best on all that red rock? Lesley-Jean
What an idea Motherhen. A twinkly moon dust eglu. JAMES..... !
motherhen
I'm sure they could add some glittery bits to the plastic powder they use to make the eglus
The Dogmother
Don't mention it to Rosie girls, I had to stop her putting up a disco glitter ball in the run
motherhen
Dare I ask what colour Rosie's bedroom is?
The Dogmother
Bet you can't guess.... Yup, it's pink! Well, the bottom half of the walls is, I fadede it into the white halfway up and painted the ceiling to look like a sky. Don;t know where she gets the girly stuff form; she's more like Buffie than me in that respect!
motherhen
It's in their genes They do grow out of it - sounds as if you aren't doing too badly re tasteful decorating. My daughter wanted her room all Barbie pink at one stage And no, we didn't give in, but the nagging was a tad wearing

Mrs Frugal
That's just what I keep threatening Ollie with - and it's usually followed by him saying "Why are my parents SO embarrassing"!
