The Dogmother
I need to find a custom sized mattress for Rosie's bed, which is an unusual size. I have been advised to look in caravanning mags for ads regarding the high density foam mattresses that you use in 'vans. Now, I don't want anything too expensive, but would like it to be durable and hygienic. I will google of course, but always value personal recommendations Many thanks
bronze
I'm no longer a caravanner but can I suggest looking on ebay. I have bought several mattresses ont here off a chap who cuts them to size. I'm afraid I can't remember his name but he should be easy to find.

Keanie Bean
I think that mothercare will make custom sized matresses. Its quite a while since I had one made for the kids cot so I dont know if they still provide that service. Sarah.x

The Dogmother
Thanks Guys, I'll follow up those links and have a good look online when I get some undisturbed time. I've tried IKEA; theirs are the wrong size, and Mothercare don't go up to that size I need 180 x 86cm
Jules.
try this- not quite right but near enough http://www.johnlewis.com/230192711/Product.aspx
The Dogmother
Thanks Jules, what I am looking for (I had seen that one) but too narrow - it leaves a nearly 10cm gap down the side. The bed that Rosie has is an antique French children's sleigh bed, which was very kindly given to me by a friend. It is a very odd size and the mattress that I originally had for it has well and truly 'gone home' and needs replacing. The dimensions I gave are those of the inside of it, hence the need for a pretty snug fit.
Jules.
I've seen the photos of her bed, it looks soooo cosy
The Dogmother
Thanks Jules, it is lovely and she won't hear of replacing it, but the mattress is holey and lumpy Edited March 19, 2008 by Guest
