HENthusiastic
Hi. Buttercup has some funny looking feathers on one side. Should I be worried? Shes looked like this since I first got her. She seems okay in everyother way. Her other side doesnt look like this. Sorry for being a worry wart.
Egluntyne
That is how my girls looked after their first major moult. They grew back in time. Have there been feathers in the run?
HENthusiastic
HI. There have only been about 4 feathers in the run, and only small ones. Shes looked like this since I first got her (but I didnt notice till I got her home). Do you think she has some missing? She can't have moulted because she's not even P.O.L. yet. Aah....maybe she is still feathering up. I'm sure it is nothing to worry about. I agree....she is very pretty.
Chicken Licken
She's a beautiful girl. I wouldn't worry about the feathers - look fine to me.
chocchick
Have you checked for lice just in case? Trinny's tail looked slightly scruffy and we found lice. On the other hand hens can get feathers like that on the tail from just sitting on the nest box, so maybe a similar reason? Or she is still feathering up as young...?
