Y Felin
Hi, just wanted to stop lurking and come and introduce myself! My H and I recieved our purple cube last week and yesterday we picked up our 2 goldline girls Thelma and Louise. It all seems to be going ok so far, it took them a while to come out of the cube this morning (about 5 hours!!) but with a little encouragement i.e the lure of food and putting a wooden ladder up (they didn't seem to like the the purple ladder) they finally braved it! I am hooked already! They are such good fun. So after about six months planning for this moment- thank you from a lurker for all the great advice- we can't wait to get our first egg! One thing I have noticed is both of the girls seem to have the ends of their beak missing, it hasn't stopped them from eating but should I be worried? Thanks

Christian
Hello Y Felin and welcome to the forum! Glad the new girls are settling in and don't worry about their beaks. As long as they are eating and drinking ok? (they don't eat much until they start laying - then then stuff their little faces )
meezers
Hi, I'm relatively new as well, got my chooks last friday, between watching them and browsing this forum ( which is excellent and so friendly ! ) I haven't got alot done - you have been warned, they are both very addictive ! lozkate
A hearty 'Eyup' from Yorkshire. We got ours last September and they're fab. There'll be lots of good stuff happening from here on in. Loz
Egluntyne
And a hearty Eyup from South Yorkshire. Welcome to the forum. At least this lurker is a human being and not a googlebot!
superjules
Well we don't have "hearty Eyups" in this part of the country (not sure what we have as an alternative), but welcome to the forum anyway! Congrats on your chooks.
Hen Watch
Congrats on your new arrivals. Don't worry about the beaks. 1 of mine arrived with a bit of top beak missing. Then later, another one chipped at bit off hers too. As long as they eat and drink it will be OK.

You will be addicted to both chickens and this forum so hope you don't have any plans for the foreseeable future
