esta
This is a TRUE story about my chookie esta... Last year in January the horrible stupid fox *sorry if anyone likes them* came and killed all 18 of my chookies but only took one! We all cleared the poor chookies away and buried them by the river in a quiet place down the road. I wouldn't go near the big pen at the bottom of the garden... 3 months later, after grieving, we decided to get some more chicken, and some of our relatives knew some people that had some. We went to see them and Esta was about a month old and was in a cage in the shed, I looked at her foot and it was clubbed. The owner said that sadly when the eggs were in the incubator the incubator broke, she was the only chookie to survive. She had to be seperated because her mum *aparently* wouldn't accept her. We bought the coop, all the chickens and Esta. She was very loving and sweet, we hand reared her and then we put her with her mum and dad and her friends. 10 months later they can't be seperated, they all muck in together. This is a true story! Ziggy
That is a lovely story.... Thanks for sharing it... By the way, I love all animals including foxes, but I fully understand people being upset with them when loved pets are lost to them... Pookylover
I am sorry for your loss but what a lovely story. I also would have taken Esta but I guess thats why the one eyed cats always find a home too. I also love all animals but can see your point too. The only ones I don't like are frogs and we have a pond full of them. I won't hurt them but I am scared of them. Clare x
