I've been pondering over getting some more birds ever since we lost poor Fenn. Well, a neighbour has won a rabbit hutch from freecycle which she is going to let us borrow to introduce some new birds.

 

So on Sunday we are off to Chrchmans ( thankyou fur and feathers), to pick two new birds. I'm so excited and so are the kids. Mia has already come up with two names. Pooper and Scooper . I was hoping for something better but I've a horrible feeling those names are going to stick. Dont you just love kids sometimes.

When I spoke to Mary she quite rightly pointed out that it's best to top up before you're down to one lonely and unhappy bird.

This was my sentiment too . Pooper and scooper just are NOT good names. Hopefully we can come up with something better.

Does Churchmans deliver? Do any of the breeders deliver (I don't drive and don't have a car)?

I dont think many places deliver hens any more except omlet, and when they do the carridge is extreme . Perhaps someone else in your area might know or ring Omlet and they might be able to tell you.

We are collecting 10 girls ourselves on Sunday. Thats means we each get to name 2. My husband wants to call his tickles and tess. He is soooo childish! Needless to say he will NOT be calling them that. Have a lovely time on Sunday and look forward to seeing pictures of them. Clare x

You lucky thing! 10 hens. Although I have to say, after my first experience of pecking order introductions, I'm not sure I could do this again for a while!

 

Tickles and Tess seems quite cool names to me, unless there is something dodgy about them that I don't know about!!
