Liam
Hi all, All 3 girls seem to be laying now, they've all started within a week of each other. Can anyone help me to work out whose eggs are whose? The Copper Black is easy, her eggs are really dark brown, they look fab! The other two hens are a Utility Light Sussex, and an Amber Star / Sweetie. One set of eggs are medium brown, with lots of very tiny white speckles at one end, no speckles at the other. The other are a similar mid brown, but they have dark brown speckles all over. Any ideas on which might belong to which?? Cheers!
Cinnamon
My Amber Star type hen lays a nice mid brown egg with pale specks - sort of greyish in colour. My Light Sussex lays very very pale buff eggs with no specks at all. It will be a bit of a guessing game until you actually catch them in the act though as eggs can vary from hen to hen
Laura & CTB
Same here really - although both eggs are the same colour, my Amber star's eggs have speckaldy bits on and the Sussex star's dont
superjules
My amber lays orangey eggs with brown speckles. I don't have a Sussex to compare against though.
