Cheshire Chooks
Stale chocolate cake and half eaten peanut butter sandwiches have both gone down extremely well but nothing beats tinned sweetcorn from Lidl.

lisaroo2
Hello! So from the lists provided so far I am building up a picture of some feathery hoovers living in my garden, great! And they'll recycle and deliver me some lovely protein rich calorific help-me-put-weight-on-fast eggs! I guess its just a case of seeing what they make of different foods. Is there anything that is a definite no-no for them? I'd hate to give them upset tums. Lisa
Ain't Nobody Here
Can't really add to the very exhaustive lists above, but will repeat NO avocado (it's poisonous to them ) and also no raw potato including peelings. Am I right in thinking too much lettuce might give them the squits? May be wrong .
Abbey Road Girl
I know this is a daft question, but will the chooks 'tell' me if they're hungry?I am hoping that when they arrive that all I've learnt will suddenly make sense! I also know that I can always come here and you'll all help Thank you! Lisa Hi Lisa, My chooks lulled me into a false sense of security by not eating much from the Grub in the first two or three days. Came down about day 4 and found that they had torn the Grub down and placed it by the door of the Cube. Hint taken! I'm sure that you will do well. It's the people who are worried who may be most likely to do the best for their hens.
Ain't Nobody Here
If your girls are just POL they won't eat a huge amount to begin with. Once they start laying, you'll notice a real difference in the amount they put away!
