We always have the Gadget show on, but I think it's more to do with chookiehubbies passion for Suzie Perry rather than any passion he may have for gadgets.:lol:

Council telly = BBC1,2,ITV and channel 4 only

Channel 5 is not broadcast in my area at all

It is probably just a local term round where I am I cannot receive digital TV at all unless I have a satelite dish fitted as there is no access to cable and digi boxes don't work due to the transmitters not transmitting a digital signal

My analogue is being switched off on November 6th :evil::evil:

Louise, we were assured that when the analogue is switched off, the digital signal would be boosted, meaning that all homes would be able to pick up at least the 'council telly' channels via freeview. At the moment we can get a weakish freeview signal at the front of our house, but not at the back...

:D Love the term 'council' telly :D Sounds like you have no choice but to get a satelite dish, or resign yourself to a life of no telly :( We are not allowed a satelite dish on our house because it is a 'conservation' area :roll:

I remembered to watch it. Hmmm the Roomba didn't come out that well, but they had chucked loads of stuff all over the carpet. The one that came out the best was nearly £800 :shock: The Scooba also did well. I'm still not convinced I need either of these. I have never watched this show before, but I found the presenter with the specs Jason? so irritating I doubt I will watch it again.

The thing with the Roomba is that to get the best rusults you need to use it regularly, not when the floor is that filthy.

Also I have found that its better on hard floors than on carpet, but as we only have 1 carpet in the house thats fine, & it does still do a very good job on it anyway.

I won't get a Scooba - I like to mop!

I did like the look of that Tefal Actifry though, & hubby wants one of those mad snowboard machines :lol:

Re: Digiboxes

A lot of Digiboxes are rubbish at picking up a weak signal. The Humax ones available from John Lewis have been pretty good in my experience - more expensive, but they work well in weak signal areas.

I think the Humax ones were tested on the Gadget Show.

Try going on the website, they might have old test results there.

I love Jason Bradbury, he's soooo funny. OH and I are completely addicted to the Gadget Show, its hilarious and we love our gadgets. Haven't one the prize draw yet though

We have a good signal but there are still jumps and pauses in most programmes. Apparently, they can't use full signal strength until the digital switchover.

Aslo, check to see if your aerial points to the right transmitter. We are in range of two and everyone's aerials in the street were pointed to the weaker one. We changed ours and it has been a bit better since. Looking forward to a stronger signal after switchover though

I understand that we have a similar problem wirth transmitters in our area too Helly. The weaker one is due to be replaced soon, but we can't get a signal from the 'better' one in our street.

Doesn't bother me because I just don't watch it, but Rosie gets annoyed when she's watching a nature programme.
