really stuck i have got 2 more hens at weekend, i think hubby creeping with all the hours he having to work at minute ,

now ive got a buff called chubby brown,

2 rir called lightening and princess,

whyndotty called dotty,

silki called jennifer

 

now got a maran and a ex leghorn, thought of names called kentucky but doesnt seem right any ideas please,

i did ask my kids to help and the names i got was like mc hammer i dont think so.

 

so come on u guys i need name ideas

Well if ones called CB why not have a theme. . .think of some other comedians ( some won't think CB is funny so i use that term loosely fowl or other one name or both

Spike ( Milligan)

Chaplin ( Charlie )

Ernie ( Wise)

Morecombe ( Eric) etc etc

The Gene Genie (beautiful cockerel in the making) - 10 wks old

Tallullah (naughty girl) - 10 wks

Frock (after my bestest friend) - also 10 wks

Pingu (that's who she sounds like) - 11 mths

Phillip (little Banty Boy who's so proud and Phillip like) - 8 mths

Julian the Pheasant (he looks like a Julian?)

I just looked at them and the names popped into my head (apart from The Gene Genie & Frock but they've stuck )

(btw my cats are called Brian Git, Nuggy Woo and Numpty Gupta Turban, my horse is Sonny Goat and I had a snail called Trevor and a baby hedgehog called Kevin.)

Can I just point out, I've said it before on here, that when you go to the vet they tend to call out Pet's name + Your surname.

 

I'm trying to imagine being in the surgery when they shout out 'Brian Git Smith'

It's when they call out Numpty - they don't use surnames at my vet's...

 

The worst time was when I had to take Asbo Dave (full blown loud cockerel in a massive cat basket). They just said "Dave".

It was chosen to be ironic...and to go with a "food" theme I had going with my first 4 hens.

It's so hard isn't it. And the Vet thing can be very embarassing.

 

I'm hoping to get 3 more girls in May. My hubby suggested Cleo and Portia. When I told a friend she thought I meant Clio and Porsche and asked what the third car would be !!!

we hadnt thought of the comedian chubby brown.

we called her this as she is a big girl and brown, then one night it clicked.

she is a big buff x, i just somtimes call her buff

You could combine themes. .and have 'Skinny Minnie' or

or Long legged Lucy or Short Tailed Sally

 

Or what about 'Rock Chicks' . .. Zeppelin, Hendrix, Floyd, Cozy (Powell), Satriani ( Joe), Malmsteem ( Ywingie), ZZ Top, Lynyrd & Skynyrd actually you may be too young . .my daughter chose ours from fav tracks by Madina Lake .. .Velvet Underground, Enter Shikari etc cant think of many modern bands but I'm sure plenty others can .. or guitarists . . Slash Blackmore, Clapton, Gilmour, etc

 

 

Ooh I'm sure something will just spring to mind & suit them when you see them ..

they'll have some character just like CB which will guide you

Although mine all have proper names, I have somehow managed to give them nicknames too so Henrietta is Baby Bear, Katie is Katkins and Charlotte is Fluffy Bum (obvious when you see her from behind).

Actually extending our bit about guitarists .. could also use guitar names - Fender, Les Paul, Gibson etc hmmm now we're getting silly but there are so many themes ; Rock,

Jazz,even types of drums . . Tom-Tom, Bongo, Tabla
