Feeder doors keep closing when I walk away

Found a way to stop Sage & Onion from strutting their stuff into my house.It might not look pretty,but they're not keen on the way it gently sways in the wind and dont attempt to cross which means i can leave my backdoor open! Plus,when they're not out-i can fold it all up out of the way.Thank god for cable ties (its how i joined the sections!).

I've got a picket gate made out of left over fence that goes across my back door - the girls love to pop their heads through to have a look in but that's all they can get through

Its also to stop them pecking at the rubber seals in my backdoor.I tried smearing it with mustard,but i must have weird chooks because this made them peck at it even more.

I have swept my garden about 3 times today, about an hour later its back to what it was (pebbles and chipping everywhere) - they love to dig !!

I cut a large Gum tree down yesterday which created craters in the lawn where the trunk fell.So yesterday i filled them in with fresh soil and today Sage went and dug them all out...

So Egluntine was right--a barrier would do the trick. Looks great, Stevie. You could paint it white to look like a traditional picket fence!

Yep-gone full circle! Egluntine was right after i tried thinking of everything else and (furiously touching wood!!!) its still keeping them away!

nice idea Stevie. mine have been pecking at all my plants, each day they venture a little bit further around the garden..

 

keep the plans for the picket fence I might need it!
