Guest
As soon as I'd finished my rather ramshackle run last August Mum (the anti-chicken!) was planning the extention. Following the recent fox attack where we lost Pengy we got a handyman to build the extension. Anyone remember that decking I had removed?? The cube is attached to the front using a tunnel - idea from the run thread! He is coming back to extend the paving - we can't really walk past it withough going on the grass. Oh and yes that is a new water butt - he put one on either side of the summerhouse for us. He says we could stand on the front part where he has used the planking and one day soon I'll post a picture of me doing just that. The planking goes back about halfway and although it makes it dark in there it is nice and dry - the other side of the run is a swamp! He built us a little Eglu table too - the Eglu is out on the lawn today though with the run attached for the new girls. I need to smarten up my ramshackle bit now! He's done a lovely job - even the ply he used for the tunnel was recycled, when we had the decking taken up there was a big sign under there and that's what he's used for the tunnel. The next extention will go behind the compost heap and incoporate the greenhouse - we are getting a new one so that one will be surplus. Mum is also trying to work out where to put the next cube!!! FruitandNutCake
That looks really good. I was just wondering, has anyone extended their walk in runs to the point that the whole garden is just one walk in run with a roof on top?? It's just that Im thinking about building a second one at the opposite end of the garden, so I can have bantams seperately, and though that years later, the runs will multiply! I have a 150ft plus garden - so could take a while to cover the whole garden!
Jules.
Wow A great use of the summerhouse side, no need to build a run wall there.
