Mutrix Farmers Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 Yesterday we were having a leisurely cup of coffee and chat, 4 of us sat around our outside table when Charlotte decided she would jump on my lap. Is this normal behaviour for a chicken? Helly Welly Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 My OH was a bit mean just now, he had lunch outside, surrounded by the chooks, of course, and he didn't even give them a bit. A couple of ours will jump on our laps, then Ruby will as well as she's always jealous of any of the other girls getting too close to us. On saturday,i made myself couple slices of cheese on toast and both Sage & Onion my Pepperpot/Gingernut shot onto the picnic bench i was sat at outside for some.Since Sage started laying couple weeks back-she's turned into a greedy pig and nothing is sacred.She flew over my shoulder snd ripped the cheese on toast slice right out of my hand then ran off to bottom of garden with it! Last week,i threw half a sausage roll to my dog (a large Bullmastiff) and again-Sage tried to take it from his mouth! My mum came round last week and sat outside eating a choc ice...yep...Sage had a crafty nibble at that too. Yesterday,i had a BBQ and had visions of her running round my garden on fire cos her greed got the better of her.I had to put them in the run for safety and they both looked annoyed! Yes I learnt similar with a glass of wine..... Volty often jumps on our laps or our backs and shuffles up to sit on our shoulders - which is fine until you smell what she's stepped in......
