Thanks for the e bay link snowy. There are some nice ones but nothing bright enough to tempt me yet. I shall keep on visiting though.

Can't find them anywhere else but maybe email omlet to ask who their suppliers are. There is a lovely boutique type shop called Byfords in a town called Witham near me that does the whole range in the style of these egg cups

Including a full size egg holder you are after. Just a thought

Omlet even say there are more in the range but haven't listed them.

Thankyou so much for that. That would be perfect for me, ticks all the boxes. I have e mailed omlet and we will see if they come good for me!

I think there is one in a local charity shop here - I'm sure it was only 50p - I'll go & see if its still there if it is anyone can have it.....

[hils78]

...just ran round & they sold it 2 days ago!!!!

[missuscluck]

That was nice of you to do that. What a shame its gone.

[Mel (& Paul)]

And the moral of the story is - if you see somehting you like buy it quick

[Bexiboo]

Do you all keep your eggs on the side then or in the fridge. I keep my (at the moment) supermarket bought ones in the fridge.

[*mummy_hen*]

I have seen them in the Lakeland book as others have said.

I picked mine up for £2 from a bootsale and it's one of my favourtie items i own

That was before i owned chickens as well so maybe it was telling me something.....

[missuscluck]

I had a thought. I dont live far from Stoke on Trent, so I rang the bridgewater factory shop and asked if they had any seconds.

They have got lots in So my daughter and I went to have a look today and I have bought one. They are £35 in the facory shop. Still quite dear I know but better than £50

We went for the spotty one but have come away with the marran hen instead. The pics on the net dont do it justice. Its really lovley and I am a very happy hen owner! I have got 12 eggs in it! Search for the right one is over!

[jess]

in case anyone still wants one they always have them in heals

Great news I nearly bought you one from a charity sale today, it was a sort of old fashioned M&S crockery style a little but not wildly colourful.

Karen, thanks for the thought. I will try and sit on my hands and not start collecting them too. Its tempting!

[Snowy]

I saw a gorgeous one in a charity shop yesterday - it was tiny, almost like a jam pot, with a brown glazed basket base and a white glazed hen decorated with little yellow flowers. 99p! I got half way to the till with it then realised the basket base was cracked almost completely in half I'm still in two minds whether to go back for it, but I do like to use things and this would be purely for decoration only
