Sunshine
Just wondering if anyone had been to Trentham, and if so what they thought of it. We are thinking about going this week sometime if we can miss the rain for one day. It looks good on the website with the gardens, playgrounds, shopping, monkeys and the lake. Any tips or advice that anyone has would be much appreciated. Emma
Karen & co.
Hello! I've been a few times, and taken the children who have enjoyed the walk around the lake. We went through the Italian gardens on the way to ice skating this winter, and it still looked like work in progress, but much better than it used to be. Oh has taken the children to the Monkey palace and they enjoyed it As with anywhere the food places can be expensive, and I would avoid it like the plague on BH Monday, as some friends went last BH and didn't even park is was soooo busy There is a nice garden center and lots of shops to wander around. Hope that helps? Karen x
KateP
We live quite close to there and it's really nice. The monkey forest is good - it's so nice that they can roam about and they get so close to you. The shops are lovely and so are the cafes and restaurants (but some are a bit expensive). My husband hates going there as we always end up spending a fortune! Last time I went in the garden centre, there was lots of chicken related stuff ! As Karen has said, it will be very busy tomorrow but the rest of the week will probably be ok. amandalou
Hi sunshine I've been a few times. The shops are really good and the garden centre is just the BEST ever. I found the monkey forest quite dissapointing though. i'm sure you'll have a great time if you go

Sunshine
Well we are hopefully off today if everyone gets ready soon, thought it would be better to leave early so we can get there for when it has just opened. The weather isnt good here though but its forcast rain today, tomorrow and thursday here and we all want to go so we will have to live with the rain. Hopefully it will clear up a bit later Emma

Sunshine
We did go yesterday and it was really good. Went to the monkey forest first which we were all really impressed with and was really good to see them in such a huge space and being able to hide away or come close to people.Plus got to see a week old monkey clinging on to its mum! We had lunch there too which was expensive so a packed lunch would be a good idea. Then we drove back to the main Trentham estate(we didn't realise that the gardens etc and the monkey forest were 2 completly different companies and that you had to drive from one to the other) and went in the gardens which were lovely even if gardens are not your thing they are beautiful. Then walked over to the barefoot walk which was amazing-we went round twice becasue we all liked it so much.Had a cup of tea near the playground. Finally we went to the garden centre which was huge! Filled to the brim with stuff though and i can imagine it being so easy to spend loads! We walked past the shops when we were going to the gardens and to the garden centre and only went in the Portmerion shop so we could get some more mugs which were a bargin-were £10 and down to £3 something! Overall it was a fantastic day and would recommend going. We will definately be going again becasue we didn't get time to walk around the lake or round some of the lake because it looked huge. craftyhunnypie
I love the Vom Fass shop there. You choose a bottle then have it filled with the liqueur or schnapps of your choice. They also do nice flavoured oils for cooking too. You can refill your bottle too when empty - makes it a bit cheaper. We also like doggie fashions. It's just comical some of the outfits you can get for dogs, it even has a doggie bakery! Some of the ice cream places are yummy too. Love some of the things in the garden centre. Yes you can spend loads at Trentham. Emma.x
