Look at the quality of the Larch lap etc, and the joists and uprights, are they thick enough?

I went to a local small business, and had one made, it was £50 more but the quality is amazing, the floor is good and solis, and the door is strong. you can request all sorts of odd things, like offset doors, and pent roof, and they just do it!!

I've painted it inside and out with sadolin, to preserve it(I'm a saddo!), the outside has had 3 coats!!m Make sure you erect it on a firm surface, with lots of wooden blocks spopread out all over to balance the weight; mine is on gravel, to keep it dry underneath!!

Ishall now go and lie down, having done my""hi, I'm Kay, and I have a shed problem"" Bit :lol:

Whatever you do get some decent security on it .

The standard ones come with a very basic hasp which can be prised off in seconds with a screwdriver.

Get 2 or 3 field gate or padbolts ,use coachbolts, bolt them right through the wood and use penny washers or one way screws,

and get a set of keyed alike padlocks

It wont stop a serious person getting in but it will deter the amateur

and its amazing how common shed theft is and a mountain bike mower and chainsaw will soon add up to a lot of money certainly a lot more than a little security.

where the shed is going is security enough as its at the top of the garden which is on a steep hill!! When at the top of the garden you are higher than the roof by a long way!! If anyone wants to get stuff from it then they will have to be fit!

I have looked at the suggestions so far but the best shed I can find is one at http://www.taylorsgardenbuildings.co.uk/ and they will not deliver it!! Will Keep looking :)

Beware of the construction on some of these sheds on this site - avoid anything with OSB /Chipboard (normally on the roofs and floors)

It disintergrates if allowed to get wet.

Have you looked for a local shed company near you? At least then you can go and see the quality of what you are buying. If you go direct to a local company you are cutting out the agents, ie. Malvern Garden Buildings are often sold by Garden Centres who act as agents therefore take their cut.

there is a local place but delivery is 5 weeks and I needed one ASAP. After looking around I am thinking that I am willing to wait that time as the local one is T&G for the floor and roof too (didnt realise that the board stuff was so rubbish!)

Thanks for the help :)
