Well, I'm shocked! I never thought I'd see the day where one of my chickens would sit with me without food being the motivating factor! Not once either but TWICE today!!!! I sat on the bench and Maud jumped up next to me, climbed onto my knee and settled herself down for a cuddle with absolutely no coaxing from me at all. I couldn't believe my eyes! I thought only cats did that! :0)))) She loves the back of her head being scratched. I've never seen a more contented chicken in my life, or a more contented chicken owner! ;0)

I only intended to let them out while I cleaned their boudoir and to give them some left over tagliatelle however, i sat on the bench for a break and to do a spot of chicken watching and madam thought she'd make herself comfortable!

 

I had to sit out there most of the afternoon in the end

well, I had a day of chores planned but Maud scuppered that! I couldn't oust her as she was so comfy and content

 

Like ANH says, I waited so long for it to happen and for it to happen without any food to hand was brilliant! She just wanted a cuddle which was lovely

Awww how lovely. It would have been rude to have moved her then to do housework.....

 

One of my more nervous hens jumped up and went to sleep on my lap the over evening and since then regularly hops up for a cuddle! Is so lovely to have them snuggled in.
