Egg Lou
Well cube only arrived yesterday, it already had a "spout" fitted.. been raining all day so thought I'd go and have a quick peek in nestbox to check.. and yes a puddle of water sat there. Not impressed as supposed to be fixed and Omlet built it too Any ideas??

Thanks Egluntine... is there anyone in particular to email? I've read the other threads on this but was assured it was sorted when I ordered.. not funny when they cost so much! Really pity the others who have had leaking cubes for ages!
Egg Lou
Just looked at the suggestion above but there is already an omlet spout in same place so I can't try this
Egluntyne
Contact James@omlet.co.uk or Johannes@omlet.co.uk I would telephone first thing as well. Remember that you have a 30 day guarantee.

Gallina
Where is the leak? On my new Cube, when the rain is emptying down I get a very small amount of water collecting in the front half of the nesting box. Ordinary rain doesn't come in at all. By feeling the inside of the roof, I have located it as coming in where the roof joins on at the front right. I stuffed a bit of kitchen paper in there, and it has cured the problem. I will replace with something more sturdy next time there is heavy rain. This is not the same as the earlier more serious leaking, which has been cured by the spout. (Strangely, I didn't have this problem with my first Cube, and have not used the fix.) I can't see any solution to the miniature gap I have apart from having the Cube remade, and that might create other problems. We only get this kind of rain once or twice a year, so I think I will just live with it. It would be different if water came in every time it rained. Egg Lou
The leak is on the right as you look into the nest box.. its quite a large amount enought to soak any bedding that would be there?? I take your point it is probably no where near as bad as the earlier leaks but this was in "normal" rain, nothing really heavy so in very bad rain I think the amount of water coming in would be much worse? I am happy to try a "fix" but its just a bit disappointing as was assured this amended model would not leak..
Omletina Kyckling
Hi, Sorry to hear about your leak. I don't think you should try to fix this leak yourself, I think you should get onto Omlet and ask them to sort it out. As you say, this is the new model and it shouldn't be leaking! So far, mine seems ok, and I think it's pot luck! Is the ground the cube on flat? It's not sloping any direction at all? Diane

Diane Hi Diane, Glad your is ok as think you have enough to contend with right now .. the cube is on reasonably flat ground and I have emailed James so will see if he has any advice.. redfrock
I'm begining to think that they should send all of us to have had leaky cubes the 'new and improved' back panel - although that obviously woundn't help Egg Lou Meanwhile I need to get onto to Omlet because they have only sent me one retro kit, not two. Not that I need them, but if ever I do decide to sell ... Meanwhile I wonder how Daniel is getting on???
Egg Lou
I could be wrong but the "improvement" only has a flexible spout pushed through the existing hole in the top.. so don't believe the actual panel has been adjusted. Do feel sorry for those of you who have had this problem for some time

Jules.
Hmm. I presumed that the back panel was remoulded now. When I ordered my reconditioned cube I asked was is one of the re-modelled ones, & was told yes........

Oh I wouldn't quote me on this as I have never seen the "older" version.. just presumed because it had this spout thing that was it! I'm happy to post a photo later if that would help see if there are any changes??
Aunty e
Having seen both, I can say that the panel has been remoulded. In fact, you're probably getting the cube I demonstrated at the Grand Designs show, which had the spout and the remoulded runnels to channel the water down. Gallina
Do tell James about it I did, and he has asked me for photographs to show where the water is coming in. They do need to know exactly what the problem is. Where the water ends up is not necessarily directly underneath where the water came from (unless you used a spirit level for the ground under your Cube). Feel the inside of the roof to find the damp spot.
Egg Lou
Thank you that sounds a good idea.. I'll have a "feel" around later except its now sunny so probably dried up.. out comes the hosepipe
Couperman
I fitted a length of hose pipe into the channels of ours and glued it in place with silicon sealant. It does still leak a little when the hose gets overwhelmed but I think the Omlet 'Blue Peter' patch with sort that out. It takes a serious amount of water to cause a leak now though. I can't understand why they didn't issue one long 'Blue Peter' patch to enclose the entire sides of the back panel, in effect making it into a pipe. It would definately not leak then. Kev.
