Slugs and coffee grounds

Recommended Posts

It actually does seem to work! I have one remaining courgette plant which I've now planted out and I encircled it with a layer of used coffee grounds. This morning, there was a slug motorway trail going round and round the plant - but it was completely intact! They obviously didn't like the coffee grounds.

This definately works as do egg shells. Keeps the little blighters at bay

That's what I thought but the blighters crawled across a thick layer of crushed egg shell in my seed tray and ate every one of my cucumber seedlings :roll: Maybe a mix of coffee and egg might work :?

The key to success is wide strip of barrier thin and wide better than tall and narrow
