Sheilaz
They must be the best looked after chickens in the country, Martin. Is it as fun having them as you thought it would be? Is Sean interested in them too, and is he allowed to take part in the chicken keeping? Hope you have a lovely weekend getting to know Lesley & Carly. It's extremely fun having the chickens, my dogs are a bit cautious though! It's my eglu so Sean is doing too much, he likes showing his friends and spreading the word. However if I need him he is fully-trained to cope with the chickens and eglu, I gave him a short lesson! Thanks Sheila!

The man who delivered them told me not to interfere too much until Sunday! Therefore tomorrow they will be handled and may get an hour or so free-ranging. The only time I held them was when I clipped their wings!
Guest
I still have no eglu.co.uk blog so I'll be writing on here. Martin - the most widely-used, fully-featured, free, highly-customizable, easy-to-use, pop-up free, blooger site is here: http://www.blogger.com/start It is REALLY easy - you could have it up and running in minutes... My missus has one - slightly squiffy it is called - have a look and see what I mean - if she can do it - and she is a total computer numpty... then anyone can!! here: http://slightlysquiffy.blogspot.com/ I look forward to the results... Popcorn
Great blog Phil....and I agree with the site being easy to use. I love Blogger, it's really user friendly. You don't mind if I read a bit of your wife's blog do you? I especially like the line, "He was induced which made life easy" Not sure about this though: G Grungy I Intense N Nerdy A Awkward http://www.go-quiz.com/acronym/acronym.php

Sheilaz
Honourable? Very apt, but the H in my name was HAIRY! Very apt too I suppose, given my without shampoo hair obsession. Sultry, Hairy, Entertaining..... ...etc. Good to see your wife's blog though, Phil.

Martin B
Back on subject. Carly seems to be sitting down a lot and seems to be bulging out and flapping her feathers. What is this sort of behaviour all about?
AnnieP
This sort of question should be in the Chickens section Martin!!!

Martin B
Quick update- no eggs today after trying shredded paper in the nesting box. I get to handle them today and I'm sure you will be seeing lots of pictures!
Martin B
I've just eaten both of my eggs that Lesley has produced for me so far. They were the best eggs I've ever tasted. I had them fried on toast. I loved the rich yolk and they looked much bigger than supermarket ones even though they only weighed just under 50g each! Anyway today the chooks come out the run for a while and I'll have some more pictures for you! Before.... (My first egg is the one on the Left) After.......(Yet again my first egg is the one on the left)
