There is a boy in Cleo's class at school who has just been diagnosed with Tourettes,& Cleo came home saying that he had Courgettes The poor boy had a sub teacher on Tuesday,who kept telling him off (quite severly) for making the little noises he makes.The other kids all rallied around & took the blame for the noise making in the end,& the Head was informed afterwards Seriously,I think it will make people more aware of the condition which can only be a positive thing,can't it? Remember, we have all complained about stereotyping, and the media making us all feel too fat, ugly, old etc. That said I didnt watch it (natch) so havent seent the hippocrocamoosepig of which you speak. My post was badly written Helen - it isn't the eyebrows that made me question her sexuality - you would have to see her to know what I meant. Totally agree - this guy is obviously comfortable and confident with his Tourettes and doesnt mind being in the public eye, he would not have applied otherwise. Popcorn Posted May 19, 2006 Share Posted May 19, 2006 Yes, infact I'd go as far as to say Lea probably has far more problems and insecurities than Pete, but because it's not been given an official name or pigeon-holed, it's not seen as a health issue. Totally agree - this guy is obviously comfortable and confident with his Tourettes and doesnt mind being in the public eye ....absoloutly..he's the lead singer in a band.... Pete does have the same choices as everybody else, and I'm sure he hasn't entered into this lightly without talking it through with relevant people. He does have a brain after-all! Whether we will take to his personality is another matter entirely.... I noticed The official BB site has put in a link to the tourettes website too.
