Elderly cat breathing difficulties when purring

My youngster has laid me 2 eggs this week - beauties but tiny...my older chooks didn't do this when they atarted, so am just wondering if she will be layer of small eggs always or whether they can sometimes get bigger as they go along?

Hard to know . My Molly started out with 42g but has worked her way up to an average of 70g. The other two started out in the 50s but are now up in the 60s and 70s.

 

You'll have to wait and see!

I thought that might be the answer! But we have just eaten the tiny ones hard boiled for lunch and they were delicious! Bless Custard.

I got my new girls in November and their eggs were quite small.

 

2 of the 'newbies' now lay decent sized eggs, but Elsbeth's are still quite small. They poach very well though

mine has laid an egg a day for the last 6 days. all off them between 39-41g.

 

i am assuming theywill invcrease in size too...?

I was worried that mine had plateaued at 35-45g but the eggs have gradually increased so that they are all over 45g and some are up to 60g. I expect that they will reach the predicted 65g size, but there is no real problem if they don't get much larger. 60g is a pretty good sized egg!

 

The fact that they don't lay big eggs from the beginning makes it much more eggciting to gather and weigh the eggs daily.

Our girls average around 60g now, seemed to get consistently bigger as they got older, but they seem to have reached a plateau now with the occassional large double yolker!! 60g is a standard medium egg (old size 5) and two will make a decent sponge cake!!
