rusky123
Really worried about working this weekend because of hatching ducks. Most of my kitchen staff (friends) volunteered to work my shifts for me dispite the inconvenience to them and it has given me faith in human nature again. You hear such bad stuff on the news, but when it comes down to it most people are ready to help each other out, such a good thought. . Scramble
Good to get everyone thinking positivly, though who can't with the sights of chickens or ducks running all over the garden? And yes people really are decent when it comes down to it.

Lesley
I think we sometimes lose sight of the fact that most people are decent and caring........ have a good weekend helping those ducklings Moyna!

Olly
It's good to hear - I think it's easy to focus on the bad things that happen in life, but I work on the principle that most people are good and that lots of good things happen. It's amazing how much a small thing like someone giving up a seat on the train or just smiling at you as they serve you in a shop, can make a difference to your day. Ain't Nobody Here
There are nice people out there, pity we don't hear about them more often . What nice staff you have .
rusky123
Yes I am very lucky. I have had an amazing weekend, a bit of sadness, but thats nature. I hear so much on the news about immigrants and bad thoughts against them etc, but I was walking home from our local a few months ago and a foreign man was standing on his doorstep shouting HELP, we went in and I found a dead baby boy. I was able to help. I had to pull Mum off baby, help baby, he breathed again., paramedics were fantastic. Ambulance staff were amazing on phone, helped me every step of the way. I realised then that all people are the same, colour, creed does not matter. The total anguish of my neighbours is the same as us Britts. Sorry went off topic off a bit, lol more than a bit!. Just such a joy to see people helping people. We are all the same under our skin. Sorry had to get that off my chest, still cry when I think about it. It really made an impression on me. Sorry again for going off topic. X Moyna

Egluntyne
What a story Rusky. I'm not surprised that it made an impression on you.
rusky123
Huge impression, changed my life .Have not seen baby boy since, cannot ask because of the language difference, but Dads face lights up when he sees DH, and he runs over to shake his hand, why I dont know cos DH was sick and ran outside . Men eh. A real life changing experience. Gone on too long again, but that baby could have been one of ours.
Ain't Nobody Here
That really is a life-changing experience . I hope you are really proud of yourself - you saved someone's life . That family will never forget you either!
Rona
That is such an amazing think to do Moyna. I wonder how many people nowadays would have been suspicious because he was foreign and just walked on by. They say that angels come in many guises and to that family you will always be the angel that came along when they needed one most.
MedusA
Wow! What an amazing thing to do, Moyna. That family must think you're wonderful! Which you obviously are!
Mutrix Farmers
There are loads of decent people out there and you Rusky are a good example!! Congratulations on your swift actions, not many of us can say we have done what you did, we can only hope we would do the same in similar circumstances. Olly
Gosh that's made me well up, Moyna! Someone above mentioned 'angels' - without being too schmaltzy, I do think that at certain times in our lives, someone comes along at the right moment - not always with such dramatic results as that, of course, but in many smaller ways. Sometimes we are an 'angel' to someone else without even realising it. Well done for following your instincts. Many people would have passed by (and there's a famous Bible story about that! )
Steph101
I think the majority of people are decent and honest.
