We've got friends coming round on Sunday so I thought I'd make a quiche and do lots of lovely salads. So, trying to get ahead, I went out and bought a new quiche tin as my old one made soggy-bottomed pastry. Got home and made the pastry, complete with parmesan cheese - my sil's recipe. It smelt delicious.

 

Did the washing up - very pleased with myself, then as I was taking the pastry out of the oven, I forgot that my new tin has a loose bottom and put my hand straight through.The pastry popped out and splatted onto the work surface and i was left with the tin ring around my wrist.

 

 

SO CROSS!!! What a waste of an hour. Now I'll have to start all over again but I've no more time today.

what a nuisance! Can the chooks eat the wasted pastry? At least you didn't burn yourself, thank goodness!

It'd be fine, but best soak it in water first - anything with gluten (flour) in can tend to bung up their crops if not soaked first.

I love quiche as does DS real men eat quiche even if they are only 12 and obviosly real men make quiche too

 

I must say I quite often cheat and use Jus-Rol mini quiche cases which can be filled and cooked from frozen so you can have a quiche within 25 minutes
