Q.O.M
Hi Need some advice on one of our pepperpots - she has been acting very strangely over the last week or so. She is strutting round like king pin, puffing up all her feathers up and out and generally taking control - has she suddenly become the boss or just matured?? She is still eating, drinking and laying fine - albeit larger eggs but has lost some feathers low down on her chest just above where her legs join her body. Have checked for mite and lice and am just about to reworm them - otherwise she is fine. She is not an overfriendly chicken but has been more apporchable as she is crouching more than she has before - does this mean anything - they are all oOmlet chickens and about 9 months old - any ideas or is she acting like a teenager!! Many thanks Hattie and Lucie
Snowy
Has she been hogging the nest more than normal lately? If so, I can only think she might be heading for a broody spell. Anyone else any ideas?
Q.O.M
Thanks for your reply, She was on the nest for about an hour or so and went to see if she was ok. She was fine and when we gave her a stroke she moved straight away. Maybe she is about to go broody, like you said. Thanks Hattie
lisa33
I think she sounds broody too. My Bobbi has just gone broody again so I have got her sulking in the broody cage.
