Blackrocksrock
I am looking at Bissell site for a recon bissell carpet shampoo machine but not sure really and wonder if any of you have one and can give feedback or a different model/make to try? Thank you in advance
Missus
I have a large Bissel shampooer and it works best with the proper shampoo. Had disappointing results with other makes The tools don't work with steam though so you get cold water coming out the nozzles which to me is pants! They say it's for safety reasons. If you buy a carpet and upholstery steamer you expect steam. Cold water doesn't lift the dirt so not very happy about that aspect
Blackrocksrock
Can you not put in warm water - I hae a steam cleaner but I just want a carpet shampoo machine - the one I am looking at heats to 25degrees.
abwsco
I have the Quick Wash one and it's great. You use hand hot water to fill it up with. I've also had good results whether I've used the bissell shampoo or another brand. Infact I bought the shampooer when my Dad was selling his house and it saved him having to replace some of his carpets just to smarten the house up. Krysia
We had the quick wash which was ok but to be honest we found it cleaned in lines. As the nozzles are spaced along a line and there is no rotating brush we had to keep going over it, It did however get loads of dirt up. We recently upgraded to a pro heat model which is loads better, More expensive but if you can afford it I would recommend getting one from the pro heat series. It tells you if you are going at the right speed or to fast for maximum cleaning and had upholstery attachments. Both do hard floors too so great instead of getting the mop out every time (although neither get under the fridge door and in little cracks etc so I alternate mopping the old fashioned way and using the bissel)
jomaxsmith
I borrowed a new Pro Heat one from a friend and, to my mind, it went through loads of shampoo (at £16 a bottle) and while it did a good freshen up clean it didn't really touch the stains on my cream carpet. I get a lovely little man in to do my carpets professionally once a year and he charges under £100 and does a really good job so I won't be trying to do it myself! Jo PM me if anyone wants his number, he really is lovely and very cheap!
