Jen&Rog
I think one of our older ex-batts is getting a bit creaky on her legs, so I was wondering if anyone can suggest a supplement that might help? They already get limestone flour or calcium in the water so she shouldn't have a calcium deficiency, I reckon she's just getting on a bit, bless her. And while I remember, has anyone clipped their hens' toenails? One of the 'new' ex-batts hasn't managed to wear down her nails (despite making several new holes in the lawn) and think she needs a bit of a manicure! Egluntyne
A bit of codliver oil added to the pellets might help the creaky joints. Be very careful if you decide to give her a manicure as a blood vessel extends down into the nail, and if you accidentally cut this, it will bleed massively. Have you a paving slab that you could sprinkle treats onto, mixed into a bit of bark or similar. Scratching on the slab will wear her nails down if she does it a few times.
