rehoming request REHOMED TODAY

Recommended Posts

Hi chicken lovers

I am very sad to say that we need to rehome our 3 girls for a variety of reasons, the main one being that my husband appears to be allergic to them or their poo (not sure which yet?)

The girls are 23 weeks old (only got them 10 days ago) - we got them from Golden Valley Poultry which are highly regarded. They are 2 Golden Star and 1 Amber Star (called Polly, Matilda and Daisy respectively) and they have been laying an egg a day each.

Is there anyone in the North Hampshire area that would like them? Please don't feel pressurised into offering a home if you really cannot, I just thought that Omlet was a very good place to start, as none of our friends/family are in a position to take them.

Thanks for reading this post.

If you have any alternative suggestions how we can rehome them please let me know

Edited this to add that we could deliver them in the local area (Basingstoke) if necessary :)

Aww such a shame, but allergies can make life unbearable. Hopefully someone will have them who were thinking about getting some more, as they are very young.

Can you just clarify that you don't want any money for them.

also do they come with a bag of food :D

Hi there, we have two friends in Surrey who are looking for more hens, they have 6 (I think) and a tired old cockerel, they're going to be taking one of my cockerels when they're older and they said to me they would like any spare hen chicks I have. I can ask them if you like as I know they're trying to introduce some younger blood as most of theirs at least 5 years old now.

Whereabouts in North Hampshire are you, and did you want money for them or just a new home?

Hi - thanks for the offers. Just to confirm that we do not want any money for the girls - they are free to a good home.

We can provide approx half a sack of food (10kg ish) as some has been given away already, but we can also supply some (8 kg ish) corn mix as well.

We are on the outskirts of Basingstoke.

Thanks c0xkg

Would be happy to act as temp home till new owner can collect if things get desperate though. pm me if needed.

Hi there, i live in southampton.

I am new to chickens have only had my 4 girls for 17 days but i would take them. Have a cube but only a small run. We are in the process of building a large permanent run but it wont be ready for a couple of weeks.

I have 2 ginger rangers age 18 weeks and 2 miss pepperpots age 20 weeks - don't know if it would be really difficult to integrate them?

I know that i am a newbie but if you don't find an alternative i would take them. :D

thanks for all the kind offers/interest but we have now rehomed our girls. They are going to live a very happy life free-ranging in a huge field with other happy hens.

We are just sorry to see them go but at least I know they will be happy.
