Lulama
Hi Can anyone tell me if it is a bad idea to have different breeds sharing? I have Black Rocks and Light Sussex in an omlet and the Light Sussex seem miserable.
Egluntyne
Most of us have a mixture of hens in the Eglu. Is the Light Sussex not well do you think?
Janty
I had my large brahmas and cochins in a cube with two hybrids and my bantams have just chosen to move in with them. They all toddle off together up the ladder each night. Mine have a choice of two cubes and an eglu and they are clearly happy to live together. Not that they have the choice at the moment. When it became evident that they were happy in their new home, I volunteered to look after three hens for Mum-in-law until after our holiday (I already have chicken sitters arranged).
