Snowy
I'd grown some caulis to go on the allotment but as it is not ready yet, they have gone into the potato bed.
Flo
On a similar note, I have just had my first potatos that I have grown in a bag on the patio. What should I do with the compost that was in these? I have read about not planting potatos in the same bed year on year but I'm not sure how this applies to bags... any advice? Thanks
Christian
Flo, you will be ok with the bags as long as you use fresh compost every year. It is the build up on the same veg in the same compost that can cause problems. I have just emptied one of my potato bags onto the compost bin, as the tatties were ready
