Crooked Chicken
Hi everyone Moderators - please could you leave this post in the nesting box as I know it's likely to get more viewings here. Please read the following from my local chicken supplier, The Garden Hen. The owner there, Simon is a wonderful man, I have bought a couple of girls from him before, and attended one of his excellent chicken keeping courses. He has a great set up in Windsor and I was wondering if any of you out there are in a position to buy any more girls. I have with his wife's permission copied their e-mail below. Dear Sir / Madam Please excuse the unsolicited email but we are writing to everybody on our customer base to inform you that we shall not be open for business with effect from Wednesday 6th August 2008 until further notice. We want to let everyone know as soon as possible the situation. Unfortunately, Simon has this week been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo surgery and/or treatment sometime on or after 6th August. If you have birds on our waiting list, I am afraid we will not be able to fulfil your request for which we offer you our apologies (with the exception of those people who have made appointments for Friday 1st August). As Simon will not be in a position to look after our birds, we are going to sell off as many of the birds we have, including breeding stock, on a first come, first served basis. We shall be available as follows: Saturday 2nd August from 10am onwards Sunday 3rd August from 10am onwards Monday 4th August from midday onwards Tuesday possibly closed as we will be having a family day out. Please feel free to call in, there is no need to book an appointment. If you need to know where we are situated if you have not visited us before, please email for full address/directions. Many of the birds available are approx 8 weeks and younger and include breeds such as Orpington, Barnevelder, Andalusian etc - bantams and large fowl. With kind regards Simon & Deborah Bates The Garden Hen Mob: 07854 188 724 www.thegardenhen.co.uk thegardenhen@talktalk.net
