LittleBoPeep
Hi there, our chicks are nearly two weeks old and am not sure whether I should be worming them. They are still with Mum in separate run although are with the other chickens in the garden. Any suggestions much appreciated.
Egg Lou
Hi there According to the research I have done, they don't need worming until adults.. my only concern with this is that they do free range so just as likely to pick up slugs with worms? Mine are 2.5 weeks old but even with the free ranging issue I am going to wait until much bigger as do not want to put anything too strong in their tummies.. the info I got seemed very certain so trusting it unless anyone knows any different? Egluntyne
They can be wormed as young as 5 weeks according to the Flubenvet manufacturers website, but it isn't necessary in the back yard situation, just in intensive set ups. I wouldn't bother if I were you.
