Angels4
I am for the first time since I've gotten my girls going to try the "Pick them up through the eggport." trick this evening. Just two questions. 1. Should I close the door to the Eglu run first? 2. What about the others (the ones I'm not picking up) do you think they will try to escaped? I have to admit, I'm kinda afraid! Egluntyne
I always do close it just in case one decides to go into the run, but when I come to think of it, none have. When they have gone to roost they are drowsy and in a trance like state, so whilst they might shuffle about and grumble a bit, they will remain very docile. Hold them firmly and they will be OK. They don't see well in the dark so are unlikely to go flapping off into the night. Mine have not tried to escape as far as I can remember. Can you get someone to help you? Why not just stroke them the first time to get you used to them, and then pluck up courage to pick them up another night. Top tip.....wear long sleeves just in case one wriggles a bit and scratches you. Good luck.
Angels4
Thanks Egluntine I have already instructed my good sister to not make any plans for this evening so she can help me. I'll let you all know how I make out.
